Description
The OFFICIAL 1987 Annual for the classic 1980’s television series Robin of Sherwood – Delivering in March 2025
The brand-new 1987 Annual is a companion piece for the original and rare 1986 Annual (which only featured lead actor Michael Praed’s version of the titular hero).
This 1987 Annual features both eras (including Jason Connery in the role of Robin, that he stepped into when Michael Praed left) and it is written and designed as if it really was published in that year; assuming inside that the series would have come back with the ‘upcoming’ The Knights of the Apocalypse television movie that writer/creator Richard ‘Kip’ Carpenter wrote to wrap the series up.
The 1986 Annual didn’t really seem to be as jam-packed with content as other Annuals of successful TV series at the time, so editor Barnaby Eaton-Jones made sure that the 1987 Annual crammed as much in as possible.
It is an A4-sized hardback homage, with all of its 96 full-colour pages jam-packed with new interviews (actors Michael Praed, Jason Connery, Judi Trott, producer Esta Charkham, and writer Anthony Hororwitz), a feature on ‘How To Be Evil’ (with Nickolas Grace and Richard O’Brien), Clive Mantle’s self-penned ‘Little John’s Jottings’ in diary form, a four-part comic strip called ‘Blood Moon’, a crossword, an actual game, a new and illustrated adventure story, specially commissioned artwork, and stuntman Graeme Crowther’s recollection of playing the Hooded Man in the transition between Michael Praed and Jason Connery.
This 1987 Annual was originally published in 2022 by Chinbeard Books, as a limited print run. As interest seems to be high for those that missed it at the time, this AUK Direct exclusive needs a set number of pre-orders to be met before the book goes to print. If pre-orders are under that amount, you will be fully refunded.
