Description
Richard Carpenter’s Robin of Sherwood scripts created a host of memorable guest roles for brilliant actors in every television episode of the iconic series from the 1980’s.
For the 40th anniversary, we’re taking a unique sidestep to showcase memorable guest characters who accompanied – or battled against – the Sherwood heroes; with the original, surviving actors reprising their roles on audio.
The ‘Tales Untold’ CD features a series of six vignettes, in which you’ll get to hear about moments you didn’t see on screen in episodes showcasing these specially chosen characters. These short snapshots into their lives might be set directly after the end of a relevant episode, or it might be set before the story even took place, or it might even be whilst a story is happening.
Featuring Terry Molloy as The Old Prisoner (and Arthur), Daniel Peacock as Sergeant Sparrow of the Lichfield Watch, Robert Daws as Hubert de Giscard, Claire Parker as Elana Scathlock, and Oliver Tobias as Bertrand de Nivelle.
Also featuring the voices of Philip Pope, Conrad Westmaas, and Barnaby Eaton-Jones.
Written by Jennifer Ash. Produced and directed by Barnaby Eaton-Jones, from his original idea.
The accompanying novelisation, again written by Jennifer Ash, has a bonus vignette that is exclusive to the book and – not featured on the audiobook – which centres around Jason Connery’s Robin Hood’s father; the Earl of Huntingdon.
This is a special 40th anniversary bundle release from Chinbeard Books, in association with Oak Tree Books and AUK Studios, for a lower RRP than the book and CD would retail at. There is only a limited amount available in this physical format too. Once they’re gone, you’ll only be able to get the audio as a download and the e-book won’t feature the exclusive extra story.
